This thread is to notify other members when a full clan member has been cast out of the clan and is banned from all clan sites.
I will discuss this process so that everyone can be assured it is not a simple one and that it is not the decision of only one or two people.
While the results might be positive in the long run, it is never a good thing to kick out a clan member and we take it very seriously. That is why we have so few members who have been banned in the past.
The procedure is quite long since we tend to give a lot of second chances to people who have acted inappropriately, we will do temporary moderation and temporary ventrilo or game server bans. We often talk to or warn the person even if they don't think they did anything wrong or that it isn't that serious.
When enough becomes enough the HC will make a private thread to fully discuss all of this persons actions over time. We look at all known events not just the most recent so please do not try and focus or judge on just the most recent event as being the cause of things. Unless an event is extreme it is commonly not the only cause for being cast out. The discussion thread will sometimes last for days or longer until we decide there is enough sentiment on whether the discussion is uncalled for or we have to move onto a Cast Out vote.
The Cast Out vote is a private poll where the HC members vote on whether to kick out or keep a full clan member. Sometime there is an option for that person to be reprimanded or just loose tags, depending on the case.
Who votes what is kept private so that the HC members can feel free to vote how they wish. The number of HC members is specifically set so that there are no tie votes.
If the member is voted to be cast out then they are often informed before they are banned from our site, servers, Xfire, ventrilo and steam.
We apologize to any friends these people may have but this is done for a reason and people have to understand that there are consequences for their actions even if they think it's unfair.
