So L4D2 has been announced and there is a lot of different opinions on it already. Some people love the idea while others think its way to early and detest it completely. They say that a new L4D game will hurt both communities both for the old and new. L4D will loose players to L4D2 while L4D2 will not gain as many as it should seeing as they don't want to switch.

I myself will NOT be buying L4D2. I like L4D enough but I don't play it that often as is. What new spectacular things will 2 bring us? Melee weapons! So what. New guns! big deal. New characters! especially bland. Jazz music and COLORS!... Or at least that's what my sources say.

The biggest complaint is that Valve started work on L4D2 as soon as L4D was released. This shows no faith in the original game and also doesn't provide the promised down loadable content. Players feel that the first game was considered a beta that they all had to pay for. $50 for 4 little campaigns when many more where promised, and now another $50 - $60 for 4 more campaigns

Also the CHAIN saw should not be used as a weapon. Anybody has actually used a chain saw would know that it would make a horrible offensive weapon. Sure they are dangerous but pure killing power it does not have. They are heavy, slow, and un-reliable not the un-stoppable killing machine ANY game featuring it would have you believe.

Okay.... So now your thoughts... GO!

nay, unless free then yay, but chainsaw is only good in Gears

I agree with Sven. First, I don't play L4D that often (because it's so repititious) and second, a game like L4D could survive a long time on downloadable content alone. I would pay for good mods. I don't see how it needs to be reinvented at this point unless there are some really big advancements in the engine.... which I doubt. I've read that they have upgraded the "AI director" but.... that also sounds like an update as opposed to a new game. As far as new weapons go, I wouldn't mind a few more guns but a chainsaw sounds bad for fighting off zombies and good for damaging team mates.

As what Valve said, they promised people 16 new weapons and more campaigns... w/e happend to that for L4D? Id rather pay for like 5-10 dollars on a update for that sorta thing. so they didn't really have to make a new game if they were just to change some things with AI and new melee weapons and maps. Gameplay wise, it's going to stay the same. So It's going to be a nay for me...

I will see what "New" things they add to L4D2 before I decide on getting it or not.

I think I'll be putting it off until there is nothing else to play. There are just to many better games coming out this year.
