I'm glad Hand is "Trying" WoW. I know he's never really been a fan of RPG games and is probably mainly playing because most of his gaming buddies play a lot of nights. I think that once he gets use to it he will enjoy the team playing we do a lot of.
The big key is to get the Questhelper addon and give it at least 10 levels. I'm sure many people would just give up if they were spending hrs running around looking for someone in a random part of some forest that you have never visited before and probably wouldn't if that guy was hidden there in some corner...
After all of us talked to Hand last night we suggested that for his playing style he would probably enjoy starting off with a Warrior or Rogue. Of course he will know what he enjoys being by the time he gets to level 10-15 and can always try as many classes as he wants until he finds the one he likes.
To start off I think it's best for him to find a class he enjoys vs one we need.
There is a reason we and most of the whole server need Priests and why there is a lot of Priests but most never make it past level 25. They suck to play at first. I noticed the need some time ago and saw no one enjoyed playing them in our Guild so I started a Priest a few days ago and I'll stick with him because that's just how I am. The reason many people play Druids instead of Priests is that the Druid has healing powers and while they're not on par with a Priest, the Druid can stand up for himself in a fight.
If you play a Priest you have to get use to dieing A LOT lol. You start off as a Shadow Priest just to get some damage out and take the long tedious road to around level 60 when you can respec to Holy.
While I've never spent so much time trying to avoid enemies before but I will say I'm starting to enjoy the priest a tad. The sweet spot with a priest is when you get into groups of 3 or more. I'm use to putting out as much damage as I can to help the team so it feels a bit odd at first when you're not doing very much damage to the mob you're fighting. I'll say though that as long as your team can keep monsters off your back, they really appreciate being healed when they're close to dieing in a tough fight or being brought back to life when they die so they don't have to run all the way back to their body.

The problem I have with RPGs is I try to do EVERY side quest. I ignore the main progressive story line until I give up on the game completely.

You're not going to have fun if you think of it that way.

I am giving it until level 10, that is when H said it gets more fun I hate not being able to do stuff with you guys, you are either doing my quests for me or i am by myself.

Don't think of it as us doing quests for you. It's kinda something that a guild does for its players. I have done plenty of quests where H or Scorp or Zombie have killed everything and I just follow along picking up the loot. You know that they get $ for that, right? It's just something you do to get XP. Now I help H's new character. It's a give and take. If you stick with it you will be helping another guild member too.
