i got COD4 (thx sharpy) but the update keeps starting over, ive restarted both steam and my comp multiple times, i re-downloading the game now, which will take forever on my shitty connection, but wtf is wrong with it guys?

it gets to about 18% on updating, then stops, and goes back to 0%

I bought it on Steam. I like it, If you have another computer install Steam onto it and try downloading CoD4 on that. You can download it onto many computers, you just can not be logged onto more than one at a time.

It also may be your internet connection, if you loose signal for even a second on downloading, it may need to restart, so you might have to set it to do it in the middle of the night so no one else uses up bandwidth in your house.

lol, i have no idea what sharpy is doing, buying everyone games... he bought me DOD:S and CS:S... he also bought a BF1942 game server for his clan. Well... all i can say is, good luck zez.

Are you sure it's actually starting over? I've seen cases where the download box with reset to 0% but still have some downloaded.

not working on a different computer? you may want to uninstall Steam on that computer and redownload it all from scratch if setting it over night to download doesn't work.
