Yup there is now a conversion kit to put the 50 round 5.7 magazine off of the FN P90 onto a standard AR-15 rifle. :thumbsup2: That is kinda cool!

Complete upper assembly needed to transform your standard AR into a 50 round, FNH 5.7 powerhouse! Top-mounted magazine, not included, holds 50 rounds to allow for straight-line, lower profile, and no extending magazine to interfere with prone shooting. The clever design ejects spent casings down the magazine well, eliminating flying brass and hot cases going down shirt collars. The upper receiver and rails are precisely milled from a monolithic block of 7075 T6 aircraft aluminum, and will accommodate any style of sighting system. Features an ER Shaw 16" barrel with flash hider, no gas system to get fouled which makes maintenance a snap!
Order magazines seperately,

Actually the Cabelas in the town you work in sells 5.7's in dry boxes of 250 and 500.. so they cost about half the price of a box of decent .223s

Cabellas is not in my town :P Oh sorry East(your town) I know the 10min drive can be rough :p.
I think this is kind of like buying a .22 conversion kit for a .45 other than a large magazine this isn't really a better option for power.

the thing is that the P90 was originally designed as a personnal protection weapon for body guards or wealthy civilians, due to its size, weight and the ability to be picked up and used easily by someone who's never touched a gun before, personally i think its a pointless piece of equipment that defeats the purpose of the P90 by turning it into a rifle. Just a bit of overkill

I believe the P90 was desinged for close quarter combat with light armor penetration, for tank crews to use etc.
I'm sure this design is not meant for more than fun shooting on the range. It's probably because there are a lot of AR owners that love their rifles and a few might want to try the 5.7 round without buying the expensive Ps90.
It's like buying a .22 conversion kit for your .45 1911

It is more just for the value of HAVING it. Obviously the AR has no where near the cycle rae of the P90, it is more for a goof, although 5x7 rounds are boarder line armor peircing so it does have some benifits.

All it needs is a stack of bolts that can drop in for semi auto and it would be freaking sweet!
