CSS CE (AkA CS 1.8)

has anybody actualy played CS 1.8? its like source exept there are many improvements, i think the graphics have been twicked a bit and also the CT and Ts costumes have changed around. if you want links tell me i post them. (i ddnt do it yet cuz im not sure if we allowed to post links like that)

bought from steam or d'load non steam (i cant get either one)
buying of steam gives busy server issues 24/7
non steam most servers dont work (some give error of protocol (48) whereas mine is (47)

ummm not sure about 1.8 but CS 1.7 was not steam, it was un upgrade from the original Counter Strike. Source was the remake that was on the source engine used in Half Life 2. they were 2 different games. You sure 1.8 isn't just another upgrade for the original Counter Strike.

yh CSS is my favorite game (i guess) but i neva get to play it.

for the record, i bought if off steam, downloaded it 4 times (different websites and people) but i neva get to play it properly.

I have never even heard of 1.8 or 1.7. I know 1.6 and earlier and then Source. Where'd you guys hear about this?
