I've always like point and click adventure games. Ever since the Sierra and Lucas Arts days in the mid 80's with Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, The Black Cauldron, Monkey Island etc.
Adventure games have been hurting the past few years and now their is only one big company making them and a few small companies, most out of Northern Europe.
Though in all this I would say the last three years has also shown two of the best adventure game series I've ever play and that I now compare all other games in this category to.
The Longest Journey 1+2 are hands down the best there is and I can not wait till the designer finishes messing with their current MMO crap(since nothing will ever match WoW all these companies should just give up) and start to finish the 3rd game. http://www.longestjourney.com/
The second series I have enjoyed immensely is Syberia 1+2 http://www.syberia-series.com/en/
While I give credit to Cyan for their Myst games being the first really good 3d puzzle adventure games, I prefer the emotional bond you get from the characters and plots in the other two games. :thumbsup2:
I have lots of these games since that is what I mainly played between the occasional single person shooter before Hand got me into FPS Multiplayer games. Some have been decent and worth the $29 average price for a few days of play and some I only made it part way before loosing interest..
