Lol this seems to be a popular set-up lately. I'm surprised the Quad GPU units are selling so much. Oh lol the 9800gx2 is now down to $400... $135 less than I paid around two months ago.. :( you should never look at the price of your card again after you buy it..
That Alienware system is almost $4000 :eek: it's definitely pretty but I did a quick spec of the parts(or similar) and you could have saved around $1200 building it yourself.

Just a note from my experience with my Alienware Laptop (which I am on typing this now)
I ordered this a few years ago, and when it got to my house, I opened it , turned it one, Alienware flashed on the screen, then ...
then...
nothing
NOTHING!!!
apparently their 105 point inspection missed a fried motherboard. Of course this was only after two four our conversations to Habib and his supervisor Mohammud who refered to themselves to me as John and Mike (I am not being racist, they called each other by their real names). The call center was obviously in India because every person that I had spoken to (at LEAST 10 different ppl) had a VERY strong accents. and even though they SWORE that they were in the neighboring building in FL right next to the warehouse, they refused to go over and speak to those people about the parts.
But then after they made me dismanlte my laptop over the phone (thank god for speakerphone) about 5 times (no lie) FINALLY they let me send it back to them and 3 weeks later I got it returned in working condition. Now Dell and all these other companies that gaurentee their products with these inspection plans give you discounts and shit if it does not work (because it is a breach of contract), now mind you I tracked this puter build on line for 2 weeks and it spent an entire week in thier "Inspection process", Alienware first could not believe that they had fukt up and then would not even try to appese me by even extending my warranty.
Now I am probably a special case (my teachers always said I was), and I have not had a problem since, and I have brought this thing to work and beat the crap out of it and I am still using it. So it is not the hardware, but the Cust service that pissed me off. More than likely you wont need them, which apprently makes it so if you ever do, they have not got a clue on how to treat you.
Please also note that this was about 2 years before they were bought out by Dell which has great Cust support and I am sure that this is no longer a problem, I ordered a second powersupply for this beast (damn PS alone is like 3 lbs) and it was a sweet woman in Mississippi who got it done quickly.
Anyways that was a rant not a warning, I am sure that the part of the company i had a bad experience with has been totally revamped due to the buy out.
And C0de, take that pic of your mom off as your avatar :P

Yeah I will always stick to building my own,that way you have no middle man to deal with other than if you have a defective part,just return it.. I priced the same stuff that Alienware had and came out cheaper. Its just the name you are buying,even though they have some good stuff,and of course you have to pay for the premium Habib tech support!,lol

we can have full autos in maine, just have to get a license , i priced out the system to build it myself i only would have saved like 500-600 wasnt worth my time to build it and troubleshoot issues. <3 being lazy, all i do all day long is fix servers and pc's i dont feel like doing it on my off hours, just want to open box and play lol
||§§||Hand_O_Death
07-26-2008, 11:50 PM
you need a class 3 dealers license anywhere in the US to have a fully auto rifle, and they are expensive to get and maintain, not worth it unless you are selling weapons. Its a federal law
||§§||sp.c0de
07-27-2008, 12:03 AM

:hmm:The 32bit Vista wont read all 4 gb of ram if u have 32 bit. maybe they fixed it now though. anyway look at my xfire :D can u see what I'm forced to play, lol iam stuck between :wall: and :sFun_DeadHorse: i cant do this anymore i wana:sFi_sniper:,but all i can do is :cry:
i wouldn't mind having a real gun right now. Something I am familiar about like an AK, I'd do call of duty in real life with it though.
