I found that if you have more than one Battlefield game (going back to 1942,Vietnem,1943 on consoles, and BF2) you can unlock the M1 Garand in BF:BC2 I like it, I am using it on my sniper class right now and it is pretty good.
Go to www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/veteran and sign in and register all of your past games. I found it already had my 1943 but not my BF2, it's expansion (You know spec ops, which I guess i was the only one who bought it) and BF2142 (another one I only bought).
Oddly enough I found this reading that scrolling text at the bottom on the main screen in the menu of the game, never read those before, guess I should pay more attention.
