I don't expect to be good at this game right away, so me sucking aside...

Guns are weak
No one shot kills sniping unless its a headshot
Spend most of my time running around
Way too little action, dependency on vehicles for transport, etc.
No customization = I can't have AT weapons unless I use an SMG, I can't be a medic w/o using an LMG...
I hate vehicles...
I REALLY hate how weak the guns are

A lot of the gameplay is high risk low reward, I don't see how anyone can manage more than a few kills per death. Has anyone checked out the leaderboard? Top guy has a 138 KDR, that's 138 kills for every 1 death...

Besides that's BF2 has some funky gun and character models otherwise the graphics seem to be better than MW2 especially where lighting, weather, and environments are concerned.

I still haven't tried the multiplayer but just from what I've seen in single the play is very different from what we are use to in cod. I wasn't planning on even getting the game and I'm still not really sure if I will get into the multiplayer aspect but for $20 I figured the single player would be fun enough and it hasn't let me down to much yet.

If they end up coming out with a coop addon that's where my bread and butter will be with this game.
I can see a team of 4-5 having a heck of a good time in story mode or against bots.

Kind of glad I'm getting a refund...

I don't expect it to be CoD I actually like the little things about it that make it different.

You move a lot slower, a lot harder to bunny hop, more recoil to the weapons, etc. But in a FPS I like to kill a lot of people and I like a sense of power to my weapons. There's no way you can take on more than one person, even if you get the jump on them. Your weapon won't have enough ammo to take out both and your sidearm is way too weak (it's even kind of slow to switch to)

Watched Kith try and play multiplayer, and he got killed 3 times by the same Bradly and the enemy team just spawn camped the static spawn points...

Like with BF2, all Battlefield games are based off of a group playing and communitcating together. If you have a Blackhawk filled with teamates all talking together and carrying out their roles, it can be real fun.

I remember having Scorp fly while Reign (I think) was engie fixing the plane, and Zombie sniping and I was Spec Ops w/ C4 (Can not remember if Boss was our medic) running through the maps calling out where to attack and covering eachother.
That is lots of fun and I HOPE the guys will get back on vent and we can all play together like that. I'll PM them to get back on.

Level differences are huge.

If someone is 20+ levles above you, they have unlocked weapons and kits that make your starter guns pathetic.

The best thing to do is get on a server that is level limited and admined so you can not be raped either by folks who outstrip you in equipment or are base camping.

As I've mentioned, BFBC2.Addicted2Fragging.com can be a less annoying place to learn the game. Since I am an admin we can set up game types and level caps and get rid of assholes.

The server is lightly populated now becuase we keept the level cap in place and use it to learn to fly, use the kits, run classes, work out strategies, etc. Once folks unlock sufficient kits and weapons, we'll up the level cap.

But, as was mentioned, teamwork and tactics work here and rare are the times when you curse at your own team for blocking a door.

I love the game to be perfectly honest and I like the difficulty of the game at times. I hate to admit it, but at first I really struggled to get a decent score, probably due to my rustiness at FPS games. Even though I've unlocked almost everything on my account I still prefer to use some of the weaker guns purely because I've gotten used to them and feel I can perform better with them. I hate the F2000! even with red dot or 4x optics.

I like to play certain classes on each of the maps aswell, not like BF2 where I'd just be a medic all the time and rack up super points on 64 player servers.

Oh and if you don't like using LMGs with a medic, or SMGs with an Engineer, use the M1A1, that's what I do. Haha!

I'm starting to get use to the game play even when the starting weapons are like shooting 22's but what is driving me nuts it when there is 4 teams and one has a Bradley and is killing everyone and no one is doing anything about it... I had to switch to Engineer to rpg it and take it out because no one else did! And as soon as it respawns the same team grabs it again and all their members run next to it with LMG's.... sucked!

Squad deathmatch is not my cup of tea, too easily unbalanced as H and I found out last week. Team deathmatch is better and Rush and Conquest are fun as long as the teams are balanced.

Tactics are extremely important in this game, which is a nice change of pace from MW2.

I got a full time job right now so I have to wake up at 7 everyday and I know you guys like to play at night.

Tactics are fine but its much harder to get a team together with good tactics rather than just a bunch of guys that are decent at an FPS. In BC2's case, sometimes you even need both tactics and skill.

In MW2 I only had to be worried about getting stuck on a team that was completely retarded. In BC2, I'll get stuck on a team that doesn't necessarily have bad players but they're either boosting their KDR by camping or just not helping with the objective.

Although learning and using tactics are cool, it's a lot harder and takes more time. Best case scenario, you'll only do well in this game if you're playing in a clan or something.

PS: Is anyone else not hitting anything on the sniper range?? Most of my kills in the overall game are from the M24 but the numbers of time's I've missed guys standing completely still is ridiculous.

Okay... first impressions now that I am actually playing the game. The controls suck. You cannot strafe while running, you have to hold the run and crouch keys, your only aim down sight option is toggle... The scripts that pugilist posted help with these issues as long as they do not glitch and get you stuck in the opposite position, like holding the mouse button to not aim down sights.

I have to say, the story line is boring. MW2 was non stop action but this is, walk 10 feet, cut scene, kill 3 guys, cut scene, run up a hill, cut scene... The game like making a habit of breaking the flow. I really do not see the need of moving from one cut scene to the other with no or little combat between them.

Combat and movement feel very un-natural to me (accept when the ADS script is actually working), and if that's how MP plays as well... then I don't give it much hope if I ever even get to try it.

The game is definitely not for anyone who worries about their K/D, I don't think it actually even shows your deaths?

I enjoy knifing in MW2 even though it is a bit overpowered. Knifing in BC2 is really hard, when you knife you have to be close and get it on the first try or you're dead because when you knife you almost loose total sight of who you're knifing and followups are really slow.

The controls are definitely not as smooth or instinctive as MW2 but I think they did that on purpose to make it a bit more realistic. If you're running with an LMG it actually seems to me that your character slightly runs towards the heavy side of the guy? I'm not sure if it's that or that it is just hard to run in a strait line in this game?

Though I will say when I'm in the mood for teamwork, I don't mind going slow or not getting many kills since it's all about communications but while I'm in MW2 I enjoy playing with clan members but for the most part it's each for their own and all about my K/D lol.

Like I said before I wasn't going to get this game at all but it being $40 less than MW2 I can overlook the cons and enjoy it for what it is.

I don't mind KDR as that's not the purpose of BC2 but the action is very 'few and far between'. You die way too quick, especially when vehicles are thrown into the mix.

This is fine but when it takes so long for me to return to the action it's really annoying.

The average match in MW2 is 5-7 minutes. Let's say I didn't get any ridiculous kill steaks, I'll manage around 20 kills or close.

Now for a match that's 30 mins or longer in BC2 I'll only have 10-15 kills depending on the map.

I am enjoying BC2 MP, I'm only like rank 2 or 3 and I have a ton of stuff unlocked. It doesn't matter what rank you are globally, you can still get everything unlocked if you play with it and win.

Sniping is usually what I do, and yeah you can't get one shot kills off of body, and it's nice. But it's easy to get two shots on a person and then blam they are dead.

If you are getting dominated, make a squad and change it around. And Mortars are very fun :D
