Well I'm doing some work for a couple that needed a new pc and a laptop fixed. They have a tight budget so they'll be buying a refurbished HP or Gateway.. but I ended up going though my links to PC companies and I thought I would toss them down here for people who might be looking for a new PC in the future but don't want to build their own.
These are what you call "boutique" pc companies. They are custom built for people who do not want to buy a pc from one of the BIG store companies like Dell, HP, Gateway, Intel, Sony, etc etc.
When shopping boutique you can get some really great built gaming rigs at good prices but a few of the companies out there that have good prices also have horrible reviews, customer service and quality so you want to stay away from companies like PowerPC/CyberPower and AVA Direct
Now remember that Alienware is owned by Dell and VoodooPC is now owned by HP.
This is just a list and most of the companies are very good and you'd be happy with something from any of them. Some are rather expensive compared to the others but I'm giving you a starting off point so look at them all and compare for yourself.
Click on the name to link to their site:
Maingear (http://www.maingear.com/) Very good cost vs quality.
Puget (http://www.pugetsystems.com/) Top quality
Falcon Northwest (http://www.falcon-nw.com/) Great quality but kinda expesive
MaxForce (http://www.maxforcepc.com/)
ABS (http://www.abs.com/)
VelocityMicro (http://www.velocitymicro.com/) Was great but they are growing fast and upsetting a few people.
DigitalStorm (http://www.digitalstormonline.com/)
OverDrivePC (http://www.overdrivepc.com/)
I don't think I really missed any of the important companies..
