CoD4 booting me

OK well after reformatting my computer and installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling CoD4, I am still getting an error that kicks me from the game after about 5 minutes. it says "Corupted File / Memory 120161"
How I still get it is beyond me. I can not find any info on this error message. andI have not installed my saved profile data yet so it is new.

Any help / ideas?

I'm guessing yer using steam to launch COD4.

People have removed it from their steam game list and just ran it from the desktop and have been alright. Have you tried doing that?

I think I solved it on both my laptop and desktop. I was getting different errors on each, but I manually downloaded PB to my desktop then cpied and pasted the 2 files it puts on your desktop into the PB section of the CoD4 file in Steam. seems to wrk well and I imported my profile back with little problem. should be good now, wierd that i seem to be the only one with the problem and it happened on 2 separate computers (one just reformatted and another brand new) with different errors but at least its fixed.
